Heather L.

Associate Teacher – Blue Classroom

Heather joined RMA in 2023. Heather earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus in education and fine art from Park University in Parkville, MO. While studying different philosophies of education, Heather was drawn to the Montessori method for its large focus on developing a love of lifelong learning through fostering independence, nurturing interests, and building intrinsic motivation. She started her educational career 8 years ago in a Montessori Primary classroom where her love for the philosophy was solidified. She studied for years under AMI trained guides, familiarizing herself with the classroom materials and methods. She looks forward to furthering her education by pursuing Montessori training. Heather aims to create a peaceful environment where each student is encouraged to celebrate their own unique set of interests and skills that contribute positively to their educational experience, relationships, and the classroom community.

Heather lives in Parker with her partner, Seth, and their three cats. In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time outdoors gardening or hiking, practicing yoga, or picking up a new art project.
