August 21st -September 1st
The total solar eclipse to be observed across North America on Monday, August 21st leads us to our opening topic of study-Solar system. Children will be introduced to outer space -moon, sun & planets. What is a Universe & what does it comprises of? Children will learn what is a constellation and the different types of constellations with pictures. Children will be able to name planets in order from the sun. Children will learn special features of all the planets including the dwarf planet.
Children with be introduced to the three primary colors and the definition of it. The knowledge of primary colors will help us introduce the artist of the month-Piet Mondrian. We will study some interesting facts about the Dutch painter and share some of his very famous works.
