Chhaya Vora – Director
The guiding light for Renaissance Montessori Academy, for the teachers, and for the children who attend this Montessori school is the passion and dedication of Chhaya Vora. The principles of Montessori education were first instilled in Chhaya as a preschooler in a Montessori classroom in Gujarat, India. She attained her undergraduate Sociology degree at Gujarat University, India, immediately fulfilled the requirements for her Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) teacher’s certification, and then moved to this country.
Chhaya went on to receive her Masters Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Colorado. In addition, she has completed over sixty-five additional graduate hours including the area of reading and writing strategies in Early Childhood Education. For the past twenty-eight years Chhaya has served in both teaching and administrative roles in the field of education, continually cultivating a passion for the theory and practice of Montessori teaching. Chhaya holds Colorado teaching licensure that qualifies her to teach K – 6.
Jacquelyn Greenbaum– Director
Jacquelyn Greenbaum has worked in Montessori for over 15 years. She has worked with students and families from prenatal education through Elementary. Jacquelyn has her AMI Montessori certificate in Assistants to Infancy (0 to 3 education) from The Montessori Institute in Denver, BA in Statistics and Mathematics from Rutgers University, Rutgers College and MEd in Education, specializing in Montessori Education, from Xavier University. She has taught in Nido, Toddler, Primary, and Elementary classrooms, consulted in classrooms of all ages, managed Montessori schools worked as a mentor for new teachers and assistants and created Parent and Teacher Education workshops on a variety of topics. She has worked in Montessori schools and at Montessori training centers around the country.
Jacquelyn has done research in Montessori and early childhood education and plans to continue and expand her work. Jacquelyn spends time in the summer working with The Montessori Institute in Denver and expanding Montessori education for all. Jacquelyn has been living in the Parker area for the last 11 years. She enjoys many of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer including camping, hiking, and snowshoeing.
Andrea Walsh – Lead Teacher – Red Room
Ms. Andrea has been a part of the RMA family since October of 2000 and was one of our original kindergarten teachers. She returned to us in 2013 after a six-year hiatus in which her family lived in the San Francisco area. She is currently teaching in the Red classroom as well as with our aftercare program. Andrea’s background includes a B.A. in Elementary Education with a specialization in Kindergarten Ed. from Purdue University in Lafayette, IN. She recently attended the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies and completed her Montessori certification. She has taught in elementary school, K-2 classrooms.
She lives in Parker with her husband and two children, both RMA alumni
Sonali Mirajkar – Lead Teacher – Yellow Room
Ms. Sonali has been with the RMA family since 2013. She has been teaching in a Montessori classroom environment since 2009. She completed her Montessori certification in Dallas, Texas from the American Montessori Society ( AMS) in 2011. She has a Masters Degree in Home Economics from India. Ms. Sonali undertook some advanced Math courses to pursue her teaching credentials in California from California State University. Having found her home in Montessori classroom, she enjoys her work with children from 3-6 years of age. Ms. Sonali is a firm believer of the Montessori philosophy and has seen it work with her own two kids. Currently, she lives in Parker with her husband and kids.
Serena Gilliam – Studio Teacher & Aftercare
The Kindergarten teacher at RMA is Serena Gilliam. She received her B.A. in Art History from the University of Virginia and her Colorado teaching license from Metropolitan State College of Denver. She taught in a private Denver school for five years, in the Denver public school system for three years, and then joined RMA’s staff in August, 2008.
“I have been very fortunate to have been able to indulge in one of my passions – travel. I have lived overseas for two years in London, England and Geneva, Switzerland. Languages are my other great interest, and I speak French, Italian, Portuguese, and bad Spanish. I am enjoying the enthusiasm, curiosity, and a sense of humor of my kindergarten charges.”
Ms.Priyanka comes to the RMA family with a strong passion for being around young children. She enjoys having the opportunity to be part of the early childhood learning process and believes that the RMA philosophy is a good foundation for success. Ms. Priyanka came from India after her marriage and has been in Colorado since December of 2000. She currently lives in Parker with her husband Dev Purohit and two children: Abhay (a former RMA alumni) and Ayush.
Ms. Corinna has been a part of the RMA family since 1998. She was our Administrative Assistant and classroom helper. She recently returned to us in 2017 to help with the front desk duties and aftercare. She is excited to be back as part of the RMA family. Her daughter attended RMA for 3 years and she attributes much of her successs to Montessori.
